Our Genesis
The origins of Legal Eagle are at once humble and prophetic.
The year: 19XX. The place: an unassuming copy shop in Greenville, SC. Our hero: a young Rick Carnahan. A newcomer to the document replication business with an eye for detail and a penchant for perfection. Fate arrived in the form of a phone call from - of all places - a law firm.
A file required reproduction. A file that was less than perfect. A lot less. Some say Rick tackled this challenge because he saw his future unfold before him. Others say he drew the short straw. Either way, tackle it he did. Along the way, creases were straightened, oversized pages were neatly folded, post-it notes were removed and replaced in their exact locations. The job was packaged up and sent out the door.
The rest, as they say, is history. The paralegal responsible for the file sang Rick's praises to his boss, stating it had been the best work she had ever received and that even the original file came back looking better than what she sent out the door!
Rick had found his calling that day and built an arm of the business that was strictly focused on legal services. Soon, he would gather others like him to his cause, and on December 21, 1994, Legal Eagle was born. Cake was served.
